Dear Freshmen,
A warm welcome to all of you.
The SRC UTAR Sungai Long Campus hopes that besides focusing on studies, we university students should also pay close attention to our surrounding and events that is going on globally. University students, also known as the eyes of time and consciousness of society, should uphold the values of honesty, integrity and high sense of duty. Also, we as young adults have to think about contributing back to society and spreading knowledge in our surroundings to influence people around us. Students should play the role of improving and strengthening the society and country. Besides that, I hope students will voice out whenever unfair and unreasonable issues take place.
I also hope that students can fully understand their own rights and stand firmly for the ideology of “ Student Autonomy, Campus Democracy”. We believe that students can enjoy their rights by deciding the future of the university in order to become a better university that is competent and high quality enough.
With these in mind, I hope that all of you can enjoy your campus life and have a good future after you have graduated!
Best Regards,

Dear Freshmen,
Congratulations to all of you who have finally reached a new milestone. We, the student representative council (SRC), send you our warmest greetings and wish you all the best in your future academic careers.
Everyone is an independent individual, and we hope you will keep pursuing your ideals throughout your studies and not be afraid of any uncertainty or comments from onlookers. Being unique is a characteristic, and we need not be frightened to be different from others. At the same time, we also hope that we do not limit ourselves to studying but should go beyond it and develop more of our soft skills. UTAR has provided various soft skills programmes, and we have multiple clubs and societies. Students can ask for more information during the recruitment drive.
Also, I highly encourage all students to pay close attention to the current affairs in Malaysia and worldwide. We shall not follow the old way of learning where we were told not to question the authorities; critical thinking can help us better understand and analyze the world. We hope we don't underestimate our power and that we can all make a difference.
Last but not least, we hope that everyone enjoys your uni life in UTAR. Feel free to seek help from SRC if you face any problems.
Best Regards,
Student Representative Council 2022/2023
